
Stable Moments Mentor Training
Working in partnership with the Haralson/Polk Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and Foster Parent Associations, WEST is seeking 5-10 Adult Mentors dedicate 1 hour a week for 26 weeks as part of a pilot program to work with 5-10 Foster Children. Training requires two 2-hour September trainings, followed by a two day training at Mentoring Village in October and a horsemanship training day in November. We take a break for the holidays and then we start working with kids in January, 2020.
Mentor Training Dates
Fall, 2019
Introduction to Mentoring at The Shed at Westover Farms, 5:30 - 7:30P Required
September 10, 2019 and September 24, 2019
This two day training will train Volunteers on how to be a Stable Moments Mentor.
Mentoring Village Mental Health Training Required
Please select one set of dates to complete Darkness2Light and Youth Mental Health First Aid, as well as complete the Background Check.
October 1, 3 hours/October 15, 2 hours
October 22, 3 hours/October 29, 2 hours
Horsemanship Training at WEST Required
You will receive training on how to work with a horse on the ground.
